Kundratek Sent Back Re:edited

New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has assigned 15 players to Hartford (AHL).

In addition, the Rangers returned five players to their respective junior club: goaltender Scott Stajcer (Owen Sound, OHL); defenseman Tomas Kundratek (Medicine Hat, WHL); and forwards Ryan Bourque (Quebec, QMJHL), Roman Horak (Chilliwack, WHL) and Ethan Werek (Kingston, OHL).

Medicine Hat News
Has an article on everyones thoughts.

Desjardins said his staff will take their time in figuring out which overagers will stay. “They are real quality guys,” said Desjardins. “It just makes it real hard. That is something we will have to work through.”

The question now remains is who goes for the tigers?
Does this mean that Grant and Cameron are now on the block?
Does Kundratek or Isherwood get put on the block?
Does Willie try to shop around for a back-up goalie? and cut/deal Holfeld to deal with kundrateks return?
They still have a bunch of 16 yr olds hanging around as well.

Edit:

16 Year Old Restrictions
In previous posts I kept saying their were 2-16 year olds allowed per team.
However that may be incorrect.

I did some researching and found a couple articles that said there is a 4 player limit on 16 yr olds for major junior for the 09/10 season.(However they would still be able to call up a 16 year old as well for a max of 10 games or until their parent team is eliminated).

I initially thought that there was a 2 player cap or 40 player limit across the whl, but it appears hockey Canada may have changed that. If anyone knows a definitive answer please let me know.

SO in reality they may only have to cut 1 more 16 year old.

Harder to trade Kundratek due to the Euro-overage designation. Would also have to bring in another tender if Holfeld is the one to go.

the more 16 yr olds you have the better! groom them now and Medicine will benefit in a year or two

I personally think that with Kundratek coming back that Isherwood is going to get traded. I also think Willie is going to bring in a goalie to back up Bunz. If I was Willie I would go with Grant. Cameron, and Kundratek

And reason I would do that I honestly think Kundratek is better than Isherwood and I also have a feeling that Willie is going to bring Birch back I don't know why I just have a feeling

I think they are gonna Keep Isherwood Kundratek and Holfeld.

They may consider looking at finding a backup goalie if they can find someone they like.

Losing isherwood or kundratek for cheap is a bad decision. You don't give up a 20 yr old #1 dmen for anything less than a 2nd rounder or equal value.

With the influx of 16 year olds, they have enough bodies to fill out the forward lines. They may try to get one forward back with grant/cameron.

If they do find another goalie that does free up 1 overager in the forward position.

Don't quote me on this though because they could easily go a different direction.

Won't get a second round pick. May not get anything with other teams knowing you are over a barrel.

My point wasn't stating on what kind of value the tigers can expect to get for those 2.

My point was giving away those 2 specific players for cheap is a bad business decision as you would be giving up 1st line whl caliber Dmen. Tigers are much better off keeping them.

Grant and Cameron relate to your idea of fish in a barrel, but by saying to the media your not sure whats going to happen you may coerce another team to make an offer on them thinking that they can quickly nab a guy with the tigers being "desperate" to unload a 20.

Which would be better than watching someone take the players in the waiver draft
