Spokane Defeats Tigers 6-3

Well the Tigers played a strong first period building a 2-0 lead, but after that it was back to old habbits as Spokane brought much more intensity in the second period. The Tigers failed to give any pushback untill it was much to late in the third period, as Spokane scored 1 goal in the second and then piled on 5 goals in the third. Tyler Bunz played well but he couldn't hold spokane off the scoresheet forevor.

This team baffles me, they are a Dr. Jykyl, and Mr Hyde where each period is a different story. One period thier passes are crisp they are outworking the opponent down low, thier defenseman are breaking up cycles, and the forwards are hitting. The next period thier is no physicality from the forwards, the defense are a step behind, and no one can make a pass or hold onto one. Despite the Tigers literally falling from the sky I still think they have the tools to go far but....

I think a shakeup is needed. Perhaps even assigning a new Captain. Grbavac seems overwhelmed as his high energy aggressive forecheck has been non-existant. I liked his fight in the first period, but the second was out of pure frustration.

Thats All I'm saying for now....going out, perhaps later I'll add more but Just thinking about how the Tigers are playing is getting me quite angry.

Good report on the game Tiger Turf. I to am frustrated with the Tigers play as most of us are. Outshot and few scoring chances by Tigers. No matter who plays goal for the Tigers they are playing poor at both ends. Hope fans don't cut Cameron to shreds when Bunz is away. Goaltending is not the issue. We need 60 minutes and much more offensive play. IMO.
Go Tigers Go, you can do it - BELIVE! Good Luck to Bunzy & Etem at WJC. And I think Hunter deserved an invite, but Don Hay is not the best talent judge.

Bredo should be captain, great defensive forward, smart player and stand up for his teammates. They seriously need to get a tough guy (dream would be Doty of Seattle) they need a high energy player like McCue

Yes Bredo should be the leader on this team. Yes Bredo stands up for his teammates. How many fights was Bredo in tonight?? When the going got tough were was our future captain?? Valk might as well wear a letter also then because he at least drop the mitts tonight! Captain Cole will wear the C.

Unlike the Titanic, hope they see the iceberg in time.

Here is some free advice for you from the beneficiaries of your home team fans. You need to boo the home team much louder than you currently have been. The TV audio could only barely pick it up and the boys really want to play hard when their own fans support them as you do. Keep up the good work! Thanks! We`ll be back to beat you again soon. (Spokane, Lethbridge...)

My guess is the above comment is from Richie the dillusional Lehtbridge fan who stated earlier this week that he would take Ketlo over Bunz. Thanks for the comedic relief that was a good one. I forgive you though, because I know it's been years since Canes fans have seen decent hockey, so i'm guessing you've forgotten what a good player looks like.

I'm wondering if the Tigers should try to go after Charles Inglies from PG.

PG has just sent him home for "breaking team rules" Inglis was a ppg player who plays with an edge.

The down side is that this is twice he has been sent home to await a trade, however his price may be a little lower.

He is a 19 year old, and could be back for a 20 yr old season. But then again you wonder about his character with being sent home twice.

The Tigers are really at a crossroads...they have to either decide to load up the roster a bit to make a deep playoff push, or become sellers and build the roster for their next big push in a year or two. To just stay status quo doesn't appease any intentions to win now or in the future.

I make this note because I agree with your comment above Tiger Turf, if the Tigers intend to get serious this year they'll need to add veteran depth and a move for Charles Inglis, and ideally Martin Marincin included, coming the Tigers way from Prince George would be huge, along with a strong push for Brett Bulmer from Kelowna to solidify the Tigers depth.

Right now the Tigers realistically have only four forwards who are truly top six WHL calibre (sorry to those who think Grbavac is a top six calibre WHL forward, he's not despite getting those kinds of minutes, and if he wasn't given the "C" he'd certainly be expendable to make room for a game-changing 20 year old which ideally 20 year old spots should be).

The other option if the Tigers think they're closer to the other end? Trade Etem and Bunz to contenders out west in return for 3-4 solid players/prospects/picks for each and really solidify the Tiger depth even greater for the next few seasons...something the team could have done back in the Bouwmeester days to get 3-5 solid pieces of the puzzle in return for him.

I know Charles Inglis has been disruptive to team chemistry on every team he has played on in the dub. Not a team player, Bulmer would be a huge addition to our front end. HUGE!!!

I would tend to lean towards a rebuild than to load up. Just don't think we are deep enough and would have to give up prospects to make a big splash. Stan I'm not sure who you have as 4 that would be a top six as I think realistically we only have two, Etem and Shinkaruk. Curtis Valk skill wise is, but his lack of size works against him. Jayden Hart is going to be a real good player but other than that we are seriously lacking in skilled scorers.

I'd rather see the Tigers go for it, even though the thought of a possible returns on Bunz and Etem could be very juicy.

Bulmer would be a fantastic player to have. If kelowna stays on thier current path in 7th, not high enough to make a push but not low enough to miss the playoffs they could be sellers.

Bulmer along with Kevin Sundher from Victoria could be the 2 most sought after players. So thier prices may be huge. Historically speaking the Tigers have shied away from rental players that have huge costs though, and preferably a player who could be back for his 20 yr old year could give a bigger long-term advantage.

Marcel Noebles from Seattle could be a decent pickup at a lower cost. Guy who can score garbage goals and likes to shoot, has good size, albeit not the fastest skater, or most physical of players. Also a Euro

Or Inglis from P.G, I doubt Marancin would be in the cards unless he was packaged and the deal was to good to refuse.

Nonetheless the Tigers could be very active come trade deadline.

I think they should try and go after a rookie from Midget or AJHL/BCHL. They really lack on the '94 age group and I think would benefit in the long run dumping a few older guys and pulling up a 17 year old or 2. They need a defenceman on the back end that can move the puck quicker a quarterback the PP.

YES. Tigers should go for it with what they have.
Have faith and give coaches and young guy's a chance, We will win and we will loose... Will fans support them throughout? Hope so. Don't hear cheers except when a goal is scored, We fans are letting them down too.
