TIgers Assign Rhyse Dieno to the SJHL

According to the Tigers twitter feed Rhyse Dieno was sent to the La Ronge Ice Wolves of the SJHL.

Updated Roster

Goaltenders (3): Kenny Cameron (19), Marek Langhamer (18), Dawson McAuley (18)

Defencemen (10): Kyle Becker (18), Dylan Busenius (19), Daniel Hansen (17), Brennan Hunker (17), Spenser Jensen (17), Tyler Lewington (18) Derek Ryckman (20), Matt Staples (17), Ty Stanton (17), Alex Theriau (20)

Forwards (15): Dylan Bredo (19), Gavin Broadhead (17), Chad Butcher (16), Trevor Cox (17), Jacob Doty (19), Jayden Hart (18), Kale Kessy (20), Miles Koules (18), Chad Labelle (17), Boston Leier (19), Steven Owre (16), Blake Penner (16), Cole Sanford (17), Hunter Shinkaruk (18), Curtis Valk (19)

It looks like the young kids are making strong cases to stay. Dieno was a late bloomer finally coming into his own mid-way through last season, then he suffered an unfortunate season ending injury.

I was surprised he was let go this early, but with the talent on this roster I thought he wouldn't be back as a 20 year old. It looks like the young kids have made cases to stay....

Remaining Cuts
1 goalie
2ish on defense
0-1 at forward...

They need a minimum of 3 more cuts by Mid-October.

Dieno was a real good player, just seems to have landed at a bad time with the Tigers having a rebuild and a lot of young talent coming up the pipe. All the best to him. I am very surprised that he was not picked up by another team, although I think that could still happen! I really like the direction that Shawn is taking this team. I imagine the last forward to get cut will be Cole Sanford.

The injury at the end of the season was a real tough blow for him. He was coming on strong then and had he been able to continue his success in the last bit of the season and playoffs, this may have been another story. Even if it was just that a trade was possible. I feel sorry for the guy, really got dealt bad cards with that injury.

Is there any chance that Hansen would be sent home? We got him in the import draft but I was not sure if sometimes the euros were sent home? Anyone know?

Memory is hazy but I think the last euro the Tigers cut was In 00-01 they sent a forward named Tomas Netik home after 3 games.

Personally Im on the wagon to drop Theriau and pick up Gogolev from the Hitman he is 20 and a euro but he averages just under a point a game on the Hitmen.....imagine him on the Tigers he could be a killer

The tigers need to drop a D man now they cant have line of
Ryckman Theriau
Busienus Jensen
Becker Lewingston

and then next year have Hunker and Stanton who will be 18 getting their first playing time as starters, my guess would be we are going to move Theriau and pick up a Farmanara type player
