The Tigers play the Calgary Hitmen on Friday in Calgary. The Tigers clobbered the Hitmen 10-1 during their last meeting, and the Hitmen will probably be licking their chops for Friday's game.

Hunter Shinkaruk and Curtis Valk have accounted for 33 of the Tigers 89 goals.

Hunter Shinkaruk Update
Dave Dawson a reporter for Shaw TV tweeted this earlier Wednesday

" Asst Coach Joey Frazer about Shinkaruk injury: "Day to day. We'll keep pushing him at practice and see how he responds"

What I heard last night is Hunter has been sent home and will rejoin the team on Friday in Calgary. The cut is just above his knee so until it heals and the stitches are removed he can't do much of anything. Was told it will be at least two weeks until he can syart skating.

Inside Scoop: 14 stitches. Roger calls the shots. Not the Tigers.

we are in big trouble our young defense make it very hard for the forwards to create any offense , they have to work so hard in our end to get pucks out there is no energy to create offense

Theriau being a great passer out of his zone sure could have helped that situation out.

Their is a rumour on the whiteboard that Spokane is interested in aquiring Jacob Doty.......

The cheifs are rumoured to be dealing one of their middleweight "enforcers" and are looking to aquire some more toughness.

Inside Sccop got anything on this?

Never in a million years should the Tigers ever deal Doty if he is gone we are going to get ran out of the building

Hmm, wonder if he is someone the team would be willing to part with. Don't see much use for us getting a middleweight enforcer when we traded away Kessy.

The tigers are asking for teams to run Hunter if we dont have Doty on the bench

Agreed. Doty is simply needed. But wonder if he will be traded at the end of the year. I am guessing our 20 year olds next year are almost a lock on Valk, Boston and Bredo. Guess we will be in the market for another enforcer next year.

So what is with this Portland Winterhawk stuff? Sounds like they are big cheaters. Heavy penalty. Any info on exactly what they did?

Any word if Hart is playing tonight?

No way Boston makes the squad over Doty, Doty is a much better impact player and players like Penner and Labelle or even Broadhead make Boston expendable, having the toughest guy in the league make a lot of teams consider taking runs at our star players that being said Doty is an extremely rare player and very hard to bring someone in that can have the immediate impact he has in the league

Tonight's game against the Rebels will be broadcasted on Shaw TV.

Portland basically violated the rules giving the players benefits not allowed under the whl-player agreement. Extra Travel benefits to families, offseason training benefits, cell phones, and possibly "other" benefits.

The reason why they got penalized so hard was because they tried to hide these things from the whl.

Inside Scoop: Yes there has been some interest for Doty's services. At ths point, no need to panic. Doty is here, to help for the long haul. He gives Shinkaruk space out there. Tigers want another high 1st round NHL pick. Doty will be our insurance clause to make sure that happens.
Sorry for the late response. Been in out of the hospital.

For 20 year olds I see Valk as a lock. We need to find more talent for the other 2 spots then Bredo and Leir.
