Shinkaruk Named to Canada's Selection Camp

Hunter Shinkaruk was named to Team Canada's Selection camp this morning.

You can find the whole list here

Shinkaruk is one of 5 forwards that haven't been drafted to the NHL as of yet in the selection camp. With the NHL lockout and the quality of forwards available is pretty high, Shinkaruk will be in tough to make the roster.

The Camp beings on December 10th, and The Full Team will be named on December 13th.
Good Luck Hunter!

Don't see Hunter making the team either. He's probably not a top six guy on the roster and I don't see him being put into a checking role. Guessing if there is a non drafted guy that will make the team it will be Nathan MacKinnon. Kudos t o Hunter for being picked though.

But... It kinda sucks only one WHL goalie was picked and the rest OHL. Hockey Canada is so political that the whole team is a joke. IMO.

Curious who you had in mind for WHL goalies that weren't selected to camp?

It is political. Remember what the team looked like when Sutter was the coach. It was mostly WHL players. Coaches and management pick players they know and are familiar with

Sku in the bridge.
See you on Friday tigers.

I hope Roger is smart enough to stay home, and not tag along when Hunter heads out to the selection camp. He doesn't need to be there.

Unclassy to pick on his father. Congrats Hunter, you deserve it. Your parents have been instrumental in getting you here and they should be very proud! Ignor the jealous people who go off on here!

With the quality of players that may jump over because of the lockout i would be very surprised if Hunter makes it this year

Ryhse Dieno just equalled his total points from last year in just 8 games with the Rebels.

Thanks Trevor. He is doing very well.

Rhys Dieno did little for us last year. We are playing young kids. We would never keep him as a 20 year old. The right decision was made, give the young guys experience. Get over this Dieno thing!! He also plays on a good line, definately makes him look better then what he is!

I'm sure if one of Dieno's family members were bothering with this blog they would at least spell his name right. There are still some of us with hockey knowledge who work with facts though :) Do all the knuckle draggers reside here? As for the last morons comment, are you unable to give credit where it's due? That's the funniest entry in a while. Plays on a good line. I wonder why? Good laughs here! What's your logic with sheen, johnson, Kessy, etc etc? They're all excelling and putting up numbers. Add up the totals of the "young guys". Nuff said!
