Tigers Make A Big Trade

The Prince Albert Raiders have acquired 19-year-old defenceman Dylan Busenius and 18-year-old forward Jayden Hart as well as a 6th round selection in the 2014 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft from the Medicine Hat Tigers.

In exchange, the Raiders  have traded 19-year-old defenceman Zach Hodder, 18-year-old forward Logan McVeigh, prospect Connor Hobbs and a 2nd round draft pick in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft to the Tigers.

Zach Hodder - 5'11 180 lbs  3 points in 25 games. 16 PM's
- P.A fans were saying he was trade bait all year.

Nothing to exciting there. I think waiting till deadline day when most teams loading up overpay.

Making this deal now, Hart wins and shows other players who aren't happy how easy it is to get traded. Wouldn't be surprised to see one or more in the off-season.

PA got the better end of this deal.

You wouldn't be surprised if there are any trades in the off season? Tigers make at least two trades every off season so that is a stupid comment. Allow me to make my own the sun is going to set within the next week a couple of times, Hunter is one of the most overrated players in the league and no scout has him going in the Top 10. See what I did there I took your obvious statement that any idiot knows and made 2 of my own

I hate to say but the kid is a damn crybaby if the reason he was asked to be traded is true. You aren't going to get far in life having problems with coaches.

Like the trade, getting someone who will not be -21 and our best Dman and a forward who can take the heat of playing on a big boy team with some coaches who will tell him what they don't like. Hart just wanted to be told he was great, could not take criticism.

How does Hart win. Sometimes it is in the best interest of certain coaches and players to not be together! Looks like a win win as Busenius was highly criticized by Med Hat fans. They get a new place to play and Med Hat gets to move along with their newly acquired trades!

Does anyone think they may trade for a goaltender at the deadline. I think Langhamer shows promise but I'm pretty disappointed in Lanigan's play lately. I'm not sure what is available but maybe we could get a young goaltender who would probably do no worse than what we have now and at least Martel could work with him towards the future?

Like this trade for PA - Good for Hart and Bus...

IMO that's a very touchy subject, Clouston screwed himself after Tyler left as he had nobody in place to replace him.

LOL at least Kenny Cameron is having a pretty good season in the all vaunted AJHL...

Maybe Hart will put on big boy pants in PA.

Like the trade. Bus was dead weight and Hart was unable to take criticism, won't take him far. I don't think he was use to not being the best on the team and having the coaches say anything but "boy, you are grrrrreat". Good riddance!

CatFan goaltending wasn't the biggest issue today. If you watch the highlites there were some brutal giveaways and poor defensive zone coverage that left the goalies out to dry.

One or more players request trades you goof. Your whole comment was stupid. Comment on the trade and not other people's posts.

Happy about the trade. I like what it is giving the Tigers. A couple prospects too (including a high draft pick). I have always liked McVeigh's play. I hope both Hart and the club have learned something from this. That would truly be the best result. Go tigers go!

Like this trade for Tigers - no "best Dman" with a huge minus and gain coach able players. Bus and Hart get new start.

Bus was -22 on leaving, Hart was unable to deal with constructive criticism, so all I see is a win for the Tigers. Plus a second round pick is nice!

prospect and a 2nd plus McVeigh - forget the other kid(he was a throw in, PA was trying to move him all year) for Mr. Minus and Hart? Could have done alot worse. Bus might be a great kid but he was a bust here. Maybe Campese can get him to play physical. Wish them both the best

I was away on holidays but I am back now so I plan to do a recap of tonight's game against P.A

I like this trade.

I said at the beginning of the season that Busenius would be trade bait and probably traded at the deadline. The Tigers played him lots and put him on the PP. He would be best used as a #2 line Dman that could assist on the powerplay.

Hodder is just a fill-in for Bus leaving and likely wont be here as a 20.

They got a 2nd rounder, and a prospect for Bus and basically swapped Hart for McVeigh.

I think the Tigers did well on this trade.

Upon reading the article in the News today I see that they were down by 3 defencemen in last night's game. Between that, the upset to the team by Busenius leaving (he seemed to be a popular guy in the dressing room) I can't be too upset with that loss. They still managed 40 shots on goal, but I still would like to see our goaltenders play more consistently.

Sad to see Bus go. He was a team leader both on and off the ice. He is often last man to leave the building and training more than most. I believe PA came out the winner in this deal. As for Hart, I have to ask why did he hate this place so much?

Not much to say but what were they thinking?

it seems the Tigers did very well on the trade with the addition of mcveigh and hodder the team has been on a winning streak and with out those two players the Raiders on the other hand on the down swing.
