Tigers Officially Make the Playoffs

The Tigers defeated PA 2-1 in OT. Lethbridge got hammered 9-0 by Calgary.
The Tigers will start the playoffs on the road.

Marek Langhamer stopped 37 of 38 PA shots for his 5th win in a row and his 8th win in 9 games.
Hunter Shinkaruk was the overtime hero. According to the WHL site the Tigers failed to get a shot in the third period.

Even though the Tigers won, PA still got a point. To catch them in the standings for a shot at the Rebels in Round 1 the Tigers will have to go undefeated and hope PA only gets 2 of their last 6 points. So its a longshot.

6/7/8
The Tigers have the Tiebreaker over Swift Current. Kootenay has the Tiebreaker over the Tigers.
Kootenay lost tonight so it opens up a 5 point gap, Kootenay with a game in hand. Combo of 4 points gained/Kootenay points lost secures at least a 7th place finish.

The Broncos have 2 games against Regina left. The Tigers face Calgary, and Lethbridge twice.
Kootenay faces Lethbridge twice and Calgary Twice.

The Tigers still control their own fate because if they win out with 3 games left they will face Calgary (outside shot at Red Deer)

Good on them for making the playoffs again this year. I for one didn't think it would happen this year with the young lineup hey have.

Think it might be time to give Langhammer and let him run with it. He's been terrific for a while, made some great stops last night to allow the team to win it in ot. At this point he's playing better than Lanigan is.

Looks like the match up might be the Blades and actually I don't mind it at all. Think their defence is suspect and if Makarov is off his game they don't have a capable back up. If the Tigers can get the pp going I think we can give the Blades all they can handle.

Just watched the highlights. If Labelle was a few inches taller he'd be the next Doty. Kid can chuck em

I am really impressed with this club!! There were a lot of fans against them at the beginning of the year, a lot of negativity!! But they kept pushing, are all improved players because of it and making playoffs is something to be real proud of!! A team like the Hurricanes were expected to make playoffs but the young tiger team beat them out! Congrats guys!!! Look forward to seeing you give a team a rough ride in the first round!

Was really happy to see Shinkaruk infront of the net and whack away to get an ugly goal!! And I agree, Langhammer looks amazing, lets run with him. He has unreal talent, he is the most athletic tendy since Keets, lets let him lead these playoffs!!
Also, for all those who said that Clouston screwed the team as we do not have a goalie next year, please post your apologies below!! Nice job Clouston, goes to show you know crap loads more then the air chair GMs who speak up too often here!!! Glad they were proven soooooooo wrong!

Playoffs, lets bring them on! Go tigers go!!

Way to go Tigers....Playoffs here we come.
The team played their best hockey in Prince Albert. The new lines worked well together, and hope they stay the same.
Langhammer played a top notch game.

If you see the score sheet, they did not have a shot in the third but the numbers do not add up, so should be about 15 SOG - they just forgot to plug in that number!

No, it does not add up, it appears that we got 0 shots, which seems ridiculous! I watched the game and the goalie was certainly making saves in the 3rd. Although the Tigers did have a lot of shots blocked, they definitely had shots on net. But who cares, they won!

Omg. If Langhamer is the future than , I m not used to the hot and Cold. Hero to zero and consistent with that. Hitmen proved that tonight. Just sayin. Please say it ain't so that he is our goalie next year or in playoffs.

Well tonight everyone but the Tigers won. Statistically they can still get 5th.

But 6th place in control of the Broncos now as they play Regina twice to finish the season.

Moreso If Kootenay wins their game in hand Tomorrow against Lethbridge the Tigers will only be 1 point up on them.

Tigers vs Saskatoon in round 1 just got a couple inches closer.

I thought our coaching staff was unpopular in town. Check out the witch hunt going on in Lethbridge.

I know that Valk, Pearce, Shinkaruk, Cox, Leier and Bredo are some of the big point scores, but another short handed goal attributed by them and Clouston continues to send them out. Wake up and do something different. They don't work together and every team cashes in on it. Every short hand goal or empty netter has been at the hands of this line.

We need to do something about the PP also, cause it isn't working. At this rate, playoffs will be short lived. Shinkaruk can lay off his big cellys after a goal!! It is playoffs and time to move on.

Clouston days should be numbered. He has killed the morale and character of this team.

Too bad. I thought they had a good chance against Calgary. And really were in the game but a few things went against them..... like Valk scoring for the Hitmen. But making playoffs at all for this team means a successful season, even if it is a first round exit. Not a sad fan here. Go tigers!

Langhammer started completely cold against a team that had all gears going....give me a break

The Tigers have a 20 year old goalie 4-5 players that could get drafted with 3 that have gone to pro camps and not a really young team at all they finished exactly where most people thought they would but no question if coaching was different this team could of been much higher in the standings

Pre-season I guessed they would finish around 6th.

Ya I had 8th-6th

Tigers played the max amount of 16 year olds. Also, Tigers were pegged not to make playoffs by a few other sources. They did well! This fan is pleased anyways! Better then being a Lethbridge fan! 9 years of playoffs, some people need a reality check!

My mistake, 11 years running in playoffs, again, shake your head. We need to appreciate what we have!!! Go tigers go!

Lethbridge did the Tigers a favor. They knocked off Kootenay 4-2 Tonight.

They only need 2 points to clinch 7th.

I was suprised to see the Tigers win. No-one expected them to even win a game.
