Watched the game tonight, some real good looking prospects out there. Wish we knew their names. But nice to see some good size on defence and also some excellent puck moving! Black 5 could thread the needle!

There was also good talent in net, which is what we really need. Glad to see there is good competition for each spot on the team.

Also, looking forward to the new Arena. About time we get an upgrade and also looking forward to that video replay so the refs can own up to some of their crap calls!!!

A team is crazy not to take Willie. He is a proven winner and I have no idea why you would go after Vinguette from Van when he can't seem to get past the first round!
Willie, Med Hat is behind you!!!!

Agreed, black 5 is awesome. A defenceman with a real offensive upside and can skate a rocket. Really good puck mover. He had my attention all scrimmage. I have no idea who he is, but lets get this kid on the team. Hell of a shot too. I could see him QBing the PP, that is for sure.

Was nice to watch some Tiger hockey this weekend. Summer is a tough time of year with no good sports to watch.
Can't wait for Tiger season again!

Jayden Harts worst nightmare just occured.....he is beng coached by a Clouston. I am sure Cory Clouston knows all about him already. Guess you better be careful what you ask for!

Hobbs is awesome! Loved his compete level and amazing passing. I hope he makes the team this year!

GREAT TRADE DEAL with the Prince Albert Raiders getting MCVEIGH and HOBBS and giving them cry baby HART. Tigers are going to have another great season.

Man, that trade with PA was a win, win , win for the Tigers. Nice moves!

I liked what I saw at the scrimmage. The scouts and management have done an awesome job. Bo Didur was an insanely fast goalie. Reflexes like a cat. I think he is knocking at the door for that back-up/challenge for starter job. But anyone know if he is 15 or 16? Smaller goalie but amazing skill.

Good luck to Ryckman as he has signed with UPEI. Good defenceman, I am sure he will bring a lot to the team there! All the best!

Honestly i understand why Hart wanted to get traded he was never going to get playing time over Valks line or Pearce he was guaranteed 3rd line centre at best but that move has really come back to bite him in the ass

He had to wait a year and prove himself to take over the Pearce line. Hart did not want to put in the time to get the glory, best he went to another team. Tigers are all about hard work and team first, he was not that.

That's a stupid comment you have no idea if there are other factors you are just speculating

I have insight into the situation and there is certainly truth to anon 6:58's statement. Yes, it is always more complicated then what it seems but that is certainly a large component. In addition, you have to want to play the system that the coach puts in place. Some players find it difficult or lack talents to fit into this system. Either way, Hart is a Raider and it seems clear we got the good end of that deal with Hodder, McVeigh, Hodder and a 2nd round pick. And sadly for Hart, he is still spending most of his time on the 3rd line in PA. Hope he is able to find his niche as he certainly has talent.

How many open spots do the Tigers have for the upcoming season. 1 goalie and 2 defence and 2 forwards? Am I right in calculating that? Going to be tough for the young guys to fight for spots!

Anonymous said...

What is the deal with this Euro goalie thing the CHL has announced? Does it mean we lose Langhammer?

TigerTurf said...

This upcoming import draft teams can only draft a euro goalie in the first round. After that euro goalies are ineligible to be picked in the draft, therefore ineligible to play in the league.

Goalies that have been already picked, and picked in this years first round are able to play out their eligibility.

TigerTurf said...

So minumum 2 forwards, 1 Dman and a goalie. Max 5 spots.

Ty Schultz likely has 1 Dman spot, if you go by the Tigers past history.

Their will be a logjam of prospects this season. Something will have to happen based on the depth of the roster and quality of prospects in the system.

Next season is going to be exciting.

I hope we trade our Euro picks away. W have all the talent we need. Would rather have picks down the road. If we end up picking in the draft, there is no way they will play. Too much talent at home already!!! Nice spot to be in I guess, just hope we have s tendy to back this team up!!

Anonymous said...

I think one Euro spot should go to that tough guy the Silvertips released we need to get bigger especially if Doty doesn't come back, I also think with how stacked our D prospects are we should trade an older Dman (odd man out Becker)

Anonymous said...

I see what you are saying, but Becker is great. Although I really really want to see Hobbs in there, at the most recent camp he was so awesome! This is the problem when you have so many top prospects!!!

Anonymous said...

Man, can Tiger hockey not get going ASAP?? I am in withdrawal!!

Anonymous said...

Strange as Becker does not seem old at all! We have a lot of talent backed up! Good spot to be in!
Tigerturf, any ideas as to who could be the second goaltender next year? Is that Bo Didur an option?
