Tonight

Basically whatever happens to the Tigers means nothing...they are almost strictly scoreboard watching to determine who they play. It would be nice to get at least 1 point tonight so they can sit back, perhaps play their rookies for a game or two against Lethbridge.
-------------

If the Tigers and Kootenay win, and Swift Looses...we will know for sure...who we play.
---------

If Swift Wins, and Kootenay Looses....it will be muddy...add to that If Regina Loses, it will be even muddier because there is still potential Regina is ahead of koot, and swift moves up to 2nd.
----------

So In a nutshell anything can still bloody happen.

The Tigers Clinch Home Ice.

Kootenay Lost and Swift Won..so there is one point that separates them.....so who the Tigers play in Round one is up for grabs.

Kootenay plays Calgary twice, swift plays Moose Jaw Twice.

It was good to see the Tigers control the third period. In the past it has been the other way around.

The Difference was the Oil Kings scored on the 5 on 3, and the Tigers were horrible on their 5 on 3.....4-5 unforced errors that led to minimal zone time.

An Update on Hunter Shinkaruk

He skated for the first time Tuesday. Still says he has a long way to go.

Really liked the way they played in periods two and three except with the man advantage. All year they have used two defencemen on the point on the pp but last night had Sanford back there and to say the least he looked very uncomfortable. Would have like to see them put a couple of their bigger bodies in front and blast away from the point rather than trying to set up the perfect play. All in all though though it was a real good effort especially in the last half of the game.

The game was fine. Hope the guys learned that they can't take so many penalties. That lost the game. BUT other then that and our lame 5 on 3, the tigers hung in there. And really, a few changes and that could have been their win. They can compete with these guys and that is a good spot to be in going into playoffs.
I sure hope we meet Swift in the first round. Less travel and I think we play them better.
Go tigers go!

Have to admit, I do not even consider Shinkaruk part of the team anymore. He is a talented player who seemed to ride that and not improve his game much here. He was a selfish player who never put the team first. Should have never been captain and has not and will not be missed on the ice.
All the best to him as he moves on, I hope his head gets a bit smaller and can become a team player. He will likely find greater success that way.

I agree anon 7:45. He was not a team guy not like Valk or guys in the past like Helm, Dorsett, Ennis and Russell. He should have never been captain. Any guy that celebrates his goals by himself like he does is not a team guy. I like the winning by committee that the tigers have now. It is a better environment from the young guys to develop as well.

Tonight's game in Lethbridge has been moved to Sunday afternoon at 4:00 PM, due to a State of Local Emergency and due to a critical water storage situation and a boil water order,

And the Tigers first playoff games have been set, they are next Friday and Saturday with both games starting at 7:30.

With last nights games, Regina has been eliminated as a possible first round matchup, as they hold the Tiebreaker over Swift Current.

Kootenay and Swift are now tied with Kootenay holding the Tiebreaker. So with the Last games in their seasons tonight we will find out who the Tigers will play in Round 1.

With Regina only gaining a single point last night they cannot match the Tigers point total which means if the Tigers win the first round they would avoid having to play the top remaining seed in round two.

Know anything about this Goeffery prospect?

How did David Quenneville look last night in his WHL debut?

Queninville looked fine. Not a stand out but good for 16. I thought Hobbs stood out more, and scored his first goal in Lethbridge! I think they will be excellent on the back end. Future looks good on defence!

I agree with the back end looking good in the future. Same age group as Hobbs we also have Schultz and Forrest. I think Quenneville will have a tough time finding a spot similar to Hobbs this year. We also have Bast in Red Deer but it appears he is looking to go NCAA.

Reedeer vs Lloydmister in Midget AAA league fianl. Tigers have 3 prospects playing should be a good series.
