Current Tigers Away At Camp
Trevor Cox (Washington Main Camp)
Matthew Bradley (Surgery for Benign Tumour)
Markus Eisenschmid (Montreal Main Camp)
Dryden Hunt (Returned to MH)

Cole Sanford (Returned to MH)
Nick Schneider (Flames Main Camp)

3 Tigers still in Main Camps. The Flames have split squad games today with the Oilers, but Schneider is not slated to be dressed.

Markus Eisenschmid last known status was injured in Montreal. Not much at all in Washington about Trevor Cox. Washington opens their pre-season today, but Cox is not dressed on their initial roster.

Mark Rassell cut? No longer listed on the roster.

TigerTurf said...

Interesting. He is not listed on the Tigers Roster on the WHL Site, nor the Tigers Website. He scored in both games against Moose Jaw on the weekend.

Anonymous said...

Cant be. He was good last year and I am sure it is just a mistake. I am hoping at least!!

Anonymous said...

He is currently lised, #27

TigerTurf said...

Phew! He is back on both lists.

Schneider looked real solid in net for the Flames. Made an unreal save on a 2 on 0. Hoping he is able to keep this fine form for the season! Would like to see him as the undisputed starter for the tigers!

Ty Stanton was invited to Detroit's Main Camp

Wonder when the seasons tickets are ready for pickup?? Glad they are on it :(

Maybe we will have to pay a fee to the arena operators, the city of medicine hat or ticket master, before we can actually pick up our tickets. That must be the hold up. Opening night is just about here, so I guess we might need them SOOOOOOOON.

So Nothing about Bradley in the Montreal media. He hasn't been cut despite some signed junoirs being returned. No mention of injury not a word about him.

Nothing about how Trevor Cox is doing in Washington.
Markus Eisenschmid is injured but remains in Montreal
Ty Stanton made Detroit's Main Camp, he also made main camp last season.
Cole Sanford - Not much on him. He started game one on the third line, but played on the first line for the next 2 games. Recorded 2 assists in 3 games.

NHL Main Camps open this weekend.
AHL Main camps open the following weekend/WHL season start

Where is Valk???

Anonymous said...

I saw the game in Ralston and was really impressed with Laday. I think people are under estimating him. He plays very physical, makes his presence out there. He is not fast but does a good job of stepping in the forwards lanes. He also plays defence first and has good positioning which allows him to still prevent a speedy forward from breaking out. Was really happy with his play. I do not think he will score much or even get many assists but I do not care. I like him for the physicality and intimidation factor. Sure happy with that trade.

Is Curtis Valk still rehabbing, I hope he has a great season again, I saw him earlier in the summer on a Canucks interview with goalie prospect Thatcher Demko.

TigerTurf said...

Not sure where Valk is. Nothing on him either. He was called up to the AHL at the end of the season, but that appeared to be a paper transaction.

I did see that he was listed on their summer camp roster, but not invited to their rookie camp or on the list of their main camp, which is odd.

Could Sanford have been any worse tonight. Sure he scored but given that kind of opportunity he should have played his brains out not floated thru the game.

Trevor Cox invited to Capitals Main Camp.
Cole Sanford made Oilers Main Camp
Markus Eisenschmid made Montreal Main Camp

Matthew Bradley is not listed on Montreal's Training Camp.

Has anyone seen any schedules available in the city yet? I wonder if the Tigers are going to have a third jersey this season?

TigerTurf said...

I have seen pocket schedules floating out and around the city.

To be honest, I didn't really like their last 3rd jersey. I love their jersey they have now, I would be hard pressed to like a 3rd jersey.

Schneider made Flames main camp.

I like the tradition of our jersey. Would hate to see some updated version. I liked the orange ones but to be honest, happy to just keep our traditional jerseys!

How has Brad Forrest been in the exhibitions - what are you projecting for his future?

TigerTurf said...

Brad Forrest should have been playing with the Tigers last season. The only reason he wasn't, was because of the insane depth the Tigers had. I have liked him in Pre-season.

Will see how he performs during the first half of the season to get a better feel for his potential.

Bradley I heard had early season minor surgery and will miss a small amount of time. Could be rumor, I like Forest on D hope he stays with the team. I have watched 2 exhibition games and thought Shaw looks much improved ready for the season, Jevne looks ready to play, Fantillo has a nice edge to him. Dave Q looks faster and stronger, Butcher will put up allot of points this year, and out 2 import D bring each something to the table that's not half bad. I think the team is going to be better than expected. Love the Jersey's as well would like to see a military day, breast cancer and these types of important events to have a different jersey.

TigerTurf said...

That would make a lot of sense about Bradley. It is highly unusual for a drafted player not to attend training camp. Gamesheet says he played in swift which was the week before Montreal's camp.

Told former Tiger Gavin Broadhead is an assistant coach with the SEAC Tigers Midget AAA team this yr.

Sanford was cut by the oilers today. Flames made some cuts but schneider was not one of them.

longtimefan said...

Don't completely understand why the Flames are hanging on to schneider. He's obviously not staying and they have 4 guys under contract in Hiller, Ortio, Gillies and Ramo. Send him back to his junior team for gods sake.

longtimefan said...

I'm wondering if Montreal returns Eisenschmid to junior if Seattle would be a possible destination for him if he doesn't stick here. Seattle has lost one of their imports to a season ending injury.

Anonymous said...

Maybe the Flames are considering signing Schneider. Giving him a good long look.

Out of curiosity, Bunz will not get another NHL contract. He would be hard pressed to get a AHL contract. So is he near the end of the line? Maybe a few years of ECHL contracts and that is it? I really thought he would have a longer career then this.

TigerTurf said...

Probably trying to find a place to play in europe/echl.
Ty Stanton was cut from Detroit this morning.

longtimefan said...

Stanton was sent to the minor league team.

TigerTurf said...

So Matthew Bradley has a benign Tumour in his naval cavity and will be out for a while. Tough loss.

TigerTurf said...

longtimefan, Where did you read that?

Additionally, the team released 11 players from tryout agreements: forwards Nick Betz, Triston Grant, Conor McGlynn, Evan Polei and Jerome Verrier; defensemen Jalen Chatfield, Justin Lemcke, Jarett Meyer and Ty Stanton; and goaltenders Connor Ingram and Matt Mancina.

Their release makes no mention of sending to the AHL.

longtimefan said...

TSN transaction page.

TigerTurf said...

Hmm. The page also says Evan Polei was sent to the minors but he is confirmed to be back in Red Deer.

How many seats does the Canalta center have in the bottom tier? Should be a heck of a home opener!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Would be nice to see Stanton get a shot in the AHL. Also would help our overage situation. I think he is a good sized guy and would benefit from AHL experience more then staying in junior.

longtimefan said...

Lower bowl must be sold out. Talked to someone who has purchased tickets in the upper part. Also checked Ticketmaster and the upper is now on sale.

are there end zone nets up or banners going to be in place at the new rink?

TigerTurf said...

Nick Schneider survived another cut from the flames. Schneider is close enough that if he gets cut he could potentially play here the same day.

Still nothing out of Washington on Cox. Looking at their schedule they have a pre-season game thursday, and an intrasquad game friday. With Hershey's Training Camp opening up sunday. Seems likely they make bulk cuts thursday or friday.

Markus Eisenschmid has started skating in separate ice sessions with 3 other injured Canadian players. I think it could be possible he gets sent to hershey given a chance to make their ahl team.

The paper also said that Stanton was on his way back
