Tiger Season Comes To An End

A 6-4 Loss to the Oil Kings in Game 73.

A Disapointing Ending.  6-0 Dominance in the regular season. One Game, Winner take all loss.

I guess the game tonight seemed kinda similar to how their overall season played out. A quick 2-0 lead to start the game. Followed by some goaltending and Special Teams troubles. A valiant comeback that had the arena rocking. Then a PP goal did them in

13 Season Playoff Streak
The Loss tonight ends the Tigers 13 season in a row playoff streak. It's been 13 years since their was no playoff hockey in April.  It will be only the 3rd time in 13 years the Tigers haven't advanced to Round 2 of the WHL playoffs.
----------

Draft Lottery
The Tigers have a 95% chance at the 5th overall pick. They have a 5% chance at the 3rd pick and can only move up if they win the lottery.

Good Luck to the 20 Year Olds who are moving on in Ty Stanton, Mack Shields, Brian Williams, as well as Austin Lotz

To Answer a previous question Bradley was injured. His presence was greatly missed.

Probably just as well. Most likely would have been 4 and done against Brandon anyways and they're going to get a top ten pick for the first time in many years.

I'm sure the "Fire Clouston" train will start rolling again. Personally don't think it will happen.

Next years OA Butcher, Mowbrey and Clouston for enforcer???

OA for next year Butcher, Owre and Kirichenko.

I totally messed up my math yesterday, and have edited the post. Kootenay won the draft lottery today, Medicine has the 5th overall selection.

Supposed to be a very good draft at the top this year so they should get a very good player at number 5.

Defence is still going to be an issue next year. Youngsters Cole Clayton and Layne Matechuk will be at or near the top of the list of young guys to make the team. Size is an issue on the back end with Nick Heid at 6'3 but after him it's 6' and under. That needs to be addressed.

To be honest I would possibly keep Clouston for his stay at home defence and his toughness.

Ty Stanton has signed a deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Congratulations Ty.

Congrats Stanton. I Kinda figured he would get a contract. He has been sooooo good this year, and shows a lot of potential in his game. IMO he is the best candidate for MVP on this years team.

Their were a lot of people who liked to rag on him, but I'm really glad he was signed.

Ah I checked it out and it's an AHL contract for the AHL Marlies next season.

The team did extremely well this year considering they had no Europeans on the team and only Stanton as a high end overage talent. A o/a plug for a goalie and a throw in during a trade. Considering the position they sit during the Euro draft, they should get 1 high end talent.
My thoughts on o/a for next year is Butcher, Owre and Clouston. The 2 forewards to help with scoring and Clouston was the only D that played a true physical game as well as the stay at home play. He made many open ice hits and was one of our highest plus minus players. Kirichenko is to slow footed foe an overage. Didn't impress me for the opportunities he was given.

I think Owre is ok but he is quite injury prone, he might do better on a us division team. He has been 168 pounds since he was 16.

Clouston is head COach of Canada's under 18's this year.

Clouston named the coach of thr U18 team for the upcoming tourney in Grand Forks. Shaw and Quennville should be on the team.

Schneider has joined the Stockon Heat (Flames AHL affiliate) for the rest of the season.

Couple Tigers made their Pro debuts Recently.

Hunter Shinkaruk picked up an assist with 15 mins of ice-time in his first game as a Flame. He has 1 previous game in the NHL with Vancouver.

Ty Stanton played and recorded a shot on net, Former Tiger Jordan Hickmott picked up 2 shots on net Both with the Toronto Marlies.

Schneider is up with the Stockton Heat, but hasn't played in a game.

It's going to get ugly folks. Tigers have been told to leave the Canalta Center due to the non lease issue. Have to be out by April 7th.
