Cole Clayton is on the whl roster sheet against Lethbridge. So That makes the 40 man roster 100% completed.

Have not seen Haden play, really low pick, usually those guys never make the tigers. Anyone see him on the ice? Also of note, Bunz now coaching in Edmonton.
ReplyDeleteLooks like McGoven is the backup goalie. No other goalies are listed on the pre season roster. He will need to play some games if he is going to be the started next year (if Schneider is in the AHL - which I always think is a mistake to do to goalies)
ReplyDeleteI agree. If Schneider gets called up or gets injured? Let's leave the goaltending to a 16 year old....let's see what happens but I think management just shot themselves in the foot. Not the first WHL club to do so....too big a gamble?
Deletewhere is Hamblin on your depth chart? Is he where Haden's name is? Gotta be annoying for guys like Fantillo, Hamblin and Jevne looking at 4th line minutes for a second season. Here's hoping they roll all 4 lines for the sake of those guys!
ReplyDeleteAh Gese, I forgot him last time to, thanks for that.
ReplyDeleteI didn't put much thought into the line combo's but yea, their is a ton of depth, and some of those guys will be fighting for minutes.
Would be nice to see if the tigers can be a team kinda like Chicago, all 4 lines are a threat. Rolling 4 lines all year will keep fresher legs, less injuries.
ReplyDeleteI would prefer to see Forrest traded. I agree he has value and should play in the league. I like the looks and the potential of Gally. He played a simple defensive game with a physical edge. We need that more then we need what Forrest brings in foot speed. Forrest was often a defensive liability last year.
Why are the euros not listed on the preseason on the tigers website. Surely we have not cut them already?
ReplyDeleteGetting their feet wet and checking things out I suppose. Quite a few vets sat out the intrasquad game. It was more of a rookie showdown with a couple vets sprinkled in.
ReplyDeleteAlso Alex Mowbray and Connor CLouston is not on the pre-season roster. One wonders if that means cut or not.
This roster is no where close to being right. They won't be going with one goalie when Schneider leaves for the flames camp and I can't believe youngsters Cole Clayton and Layne Matechuk aren't listed on defence. Paper said they were keeping 40 players around, this roster is 10 short.
ReplyDeleteI think your right. It doesn't make sense to cut this early and they usually go with a lot of rookies in the first 2 games. I've edit the top of the post.
ReplyDeletelike longetimefan point out, this isn't the full roster.
ReplyDeleteThe tigers website and whl site is likely not accurate
Medicine hat News confirmed their are still 4 goaltenders in camp. I've added them onto the roster list. Potentially only missing 1-2 names now.
ReplyDeletewould have to think Cole Clayton (D) is the missing name.
ReplyDeleteCole Clayton is listed in the box score for tonight's game.
ReplyDeleteAnyone see game last night ?
ReplyDeleteI was going to do a roster breakdown of the games, but their were a few discrepancies between the roster sheet and the articles on the Tigers website.
ReplyDeleteThe Tigers basically sat out their top 2 lines both games,(exception of 1 game by shaw) while the canes cycled through all their vets.
In reality though age of the roster is just bragging rights and means nothing as these games are used for evaluating the youngsters on how they can handle mixed in playing against vets.
For that reason 1 win and 1 loss seems like a exceptional showing.
Hamblin, Jevne, and Haden put up impressive point totals. Hamblin has looked possessed so far in my viewings, I am very interested in watching him again.
Looking at the twitter feed it looks like the Tigers made some cuts after the 2nd game which is to be expected.
Given his camp and exhibition games so far, hard to see Haden not making the team. He has been really good out there! Hamblin could be pushing for a spot on a higher line, which is nice to see.
ReplyDeleteNick Heid has been traded to Prince Albert.
