Tigers Defeat Hitmen 5-2

The game has been pushed back to 6:45 due to the snow-storm hitting the Hat.

Good Luck to everyone that does go and stay safe! I decided to stay home for this one.

Sounds like Marek Langhamer had another strong start in net. He has rolled off 4 straight wins, and has victories in 7 of his last 8 games.

He is making excellent progress for a guy who is being groomed for the starters role next season.

Derek Ryckman scored his first goal of the season.

The Hitmen  are a very possible first round matchup if the Tigers can hold of the Bronco's and Ice charges.

The magic number to clinch a playoff spot now sits at a combo of 5 Tiger points earned or 5 Lethbridge points lost.

Up Next: Tigers take a 4 game road trip to face Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Calgary and Lethbridge

  2. Tried to make the game but their was a big crash on dunmore hill

  3. Apparently one of the refs couldn't make the game and are dressing one of the local cops in his place.

  4. Make that hometown kid and Former Regina Pat Chris Schlenker is one of the refs.

  5. Nice to see the Pearce, Valk, Shink line going well again.Need to put Pearce in a passing role on the PP however.

  6. How Barry Prins didn't pick Marek Langhammer as his first star is beyond me. If not for him the hitties could have been up by three or four before the game was 7 minutes old. After our first goal we settled in and played a pretty solid game. Another game we could have put out of reach if the pp was a factor. Guys, you need to get the puck to the net! All the perimeter play trying to set up a one timer isn't working.

  7. Like the game, liked seeing Shinkrauk get one in a dirty area, right in front of the net. Thought they played well, too many shots in the first but did good to get 2 goals on 9 shots. Langhammer is really impressing me right now, he is sure an athletic goalie - he will be good next year if he keeps this up! Also think his confidence has increased!

  8. They have Chris the rookie skate out there and he did a very good job I thought he was one of the best refs of the season

Tigers played a horrible first 10 minutes got out shot 10-0 then first shot on net and they scored and just took over from their, Marek played amazing everyone played a good game Hunter was hitting everyone it was good to see and Doty crushed one of their Dmen. It slowed down a lot in the 3rd teams seemed very burnt out but overal a good effort by the tigers and the hitmen I give major props to playing about an hour after they arrived is no easy task after a 4 hour trip

  9. a little off topic but I find it very interesting when Kessy cant play his physical run and gun style of game because of fear of suspension he struggles to get a 25 goal season and can be very ineffective.....will be interesting to see how he does in the AHL because he better really step his game up or he will find himself fighting his way out of the ECHL

  10. yes agree nice to see that Valk line doing well but would like to see Koules moved on Doty line and McVeigh back with Leir

  11. Would have liked to have seen more movement on the PP, get the Hitmen moving and get shots in from closer in, low shots to get rebounds.

  12. Shinkaruk remains pegged to go 12th overall in the draft according to TSN's latest draft rankings. Good for him! Congrats!

  13. Langhammer has sure come a long way. Clouston and team made the right choice - regardless of all the armchair critics out there - he is a great goalie and very athletic in net. I think our tendy situation for next year will be ok. We will have a new back up but the kid Zac Robidoux looked good in camp. Great job Langhammer!!

  14. Those were Craig buttons rankings.

  15. He was rated #13 on the ISS list that just came out.

  16. That list means nothing, no NHL scout is going to truly say where they have a player FYI

  17. Some big games today. Red Deer plays Kootenay, Swift Current plays PA.

  18. Means something as being ranked in 1st round is good! Gotta be happy with that! Better then not being ranked!

  19. Kootenay lost. They have troubles against Red Deer.

However Swift Won. So Swift Jumps back into a tie for 6th. Kootenay 3 points back with a game in hand.

Red Deer Lethbridge and Swift are playing again Wednesday Night
