They must have something else cooking because this deal makes no sense otherwise.

I was thinking along the same lines.

I think it means they are running with Langhammer the rest of the way and are giving Wapple an opportunity to play more elsewhere and bring in a younger kid for the future.

I think this means they can't compete with the top teams and are going to try again next year. What do they care the tickets are are all ready sold.

Nick Schneider and a third-round WHL Bantam Draft pick in 2016 coming back.

Don't ever change Pats , Nick Schneider is probably one of the top 16 year old goaltenders in Canada. Pretty big already at 6'1" and 190 and played really well in the Alberta Cup in the 2011/12 year. Also has huge upside.

Regina fans seem to like what they have seen out of Schneider in his starts this year so they may have traded for their goalie of the future.

Looks to me like they are kinda waving the white flag here but the whole dynamic of the team changed when they lost Shinkaruk for a couple of reasons. One, when he was on he was one of the leagues top players and two, they lost him with getting no return at all. I for one am happy that they didn't sell off a bunch of picks and or young players to load up because I don't think they could have done enough to overtake teams like Calgary and Edmonton.
