Last season the rebels lost 5 of their top 7 scorers. It's not what you loose though, it's what you keep and improve upon.
I see Two PPG players. Four 0.5PPG"ish" players. The rest looks quite lean. They'll need to get a lot of mileage out of their top line as they will be relied on heavily.
They don't have much scoring depth and look to have some younger fillers in the lineup. I see their offense and secondary scoring being inconsistent. As a result, I think their offense will be below average.

Barteaux is a great skater and plays a good 2-way game with offensive flair. He will be one of the most sought after defenceman at the trade deadline. I would say their defense is average. They have some older experience.
Goaltending
Ethan Anders(19)(.907)
Byron Fancy(18)
Their goaltending is their strong point. This will be Ethan's 3rd year starting in net. He could also be an attractive piece at the trade deadline.
Draft History
Their draft history suggests the Rebels should have a below-average team with late draft positions and missing some top picks in the 17 & 18 yr old age groups
Imports & OA's
They ran into an unfortunate circumstance with their star Import Oleg Zaytsev. Zaytsev told the rebels before the Import Draft he was unsure if he was coming back. The rebels gambled and kept him on their roster and passed on their 2nd Import selection. It is now being reported that Oleg is looking to sign with a KHL team back in Russia. While it isn't official yet, the rebels are going forward not expecting him to come back.
Rebels already cut down to 3 OA's releasing Carson Sass who was picked up by Tri-City.
Initial Thoughts
The rebels are officially in recovery territory. They may have competition at the bottom with Swift Current being moved into the central division.
