Edmonton Oil Kings 2019-2020

Forwards
Vladimir Alistrov(18)(.61)
Riley Sawchuk(20)(.79)
Andrei Pavlenko(19)(.65)
Carter Souch(18)(.66)
Jake Neighbors(17)(.51)
Josh Williams(18)(.65)
Liam Keeler(18)(.37)
Scott Atkinson(19)(.52)
David Kope(19)(.46)
Dylan Guenther(16)(1st in 2018)
Jalen Luypen(17)(.28)
Jesse Seppala(17)(NA)
Zach Russell(20)

Notes:
I see 3 players reaching the PPG mark and an additional 7 players that should hit the .5ppg mark or higher. Fully healthy they will have 4th line players scoring at a .5ppg pace. That shows incredible depth and a scoring by committee approach.

They also have the first overall pick in 2018 with Dylan Guenther. Their offence will probably be the most complete in the Eastern Division in terms of being good this year and the next couple of seasons. They are definitely above average.

Defenceman

Matthew Robertson(18)(.63)
Connor McDonald(20)(.74)
Ethan Cap(19)(.39)
Wyatt McLeod(19)(.29)
Alexander Jacson(18)(.33)
Aidan Lawson(18)(.06)
Logan Dowhaniuk(17)
Parker Gavlas(20)(.22)
Keegan Slaney(16)(NA)

Robertson is a 2nd round NHL draft pick. McDonald is a good 2 way player with great offensive ability.  Alexander Jacson was injured almost the entire year last season after he was acquired from Swift Current. Jacson is a former 1st round pick. Cap and McLeod are now seasoned veterans.

Lots of experience and depth. Above Average group.

Goaltending
Dylan Miskiw(20)
Todd Scott(19)

Notes:
Two very capable goaltenders. Miskiw is one of the better goaltenders in the league. Their goaltending should be above average.

This suggests that Edmonton should be seeing a lot of great youth and an above-average veteran group.

Imports & OA's

Trey Fix-Wolansky is unlikely to return
Edmonton have 5 OA's. 1 Goalie, 2 forwards, 2 defenceman.
Parker Gavlas look to be the odd men out.
Zach Russell has been released
Both Imports are signed and expected to play for Edmonton

Initial Thoughts
Edmonton rebuilt through their draft. The process is slow, but they have 10 first-round picks on their roster. I feel they will also be competing with Calgary for 1st in the Central. Strong offence, strong defence, strong goaltending.  Edmonton is on the verge of having a few very good seasons. I feel like they will have an elite team this season.

Zach Russell was released on waivers and then signed by the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in the BCHL - he will definitely not be back.
