The Spokane Chiefs have traded defenseman Jace Coyle to the Medicine Hat Tigers in exchange for a fifth round selection in the 2009 WHL Bantam draft and third round selection in 2010.
“It is real tough moving a player of Jace’s caliber but at the same time we have the potential to return all eight defenseman next year as well as young list players who are ready to compete for a defensive spot,” Chiefs General Manager Tim Speltz said. “We thank Jace for his contributions and wish him all the best.”
The 18-year-old appeared in 52 games as a rookie last year with one goal, nine points and was +8.

Is this a depth move? Or is something else in the works. Or possibly both! We now have 8 guys that can play.
THis is making me anxious for the season to start.
