While the Tigers have traditionally boasted a small and quick roster, Clouston says Thursday’s series of decisions to draft bigger-bodied players came both as a result of the scouting, and due to the evolving nature of the game.
“The scouting staff did a tremendous job and we were just going off the list. When it’s our turn to pick, we’re picking the best guy on the list,” he said. “The thing that’s changing a little bit is we want to be able to be a fast team and play at a high tempo, a lot of the big guys are real good skaters now too. Even the bigger guys can really fly. You’ll see that in a guy like Josh.”

As I've said in previous threads, this team will get bigger with Darren Kruger in charge of the draft.

Holy sh**, unreal size for a 16 yr old goalie. Not something you see often. Lol

A little off topic but what a wild story about former Tiger Vey. His father is facing trial for conspiracy to murder for killing his mom.

From Western Elite Hockey prospects on the Tigers draft.

Tigers
Draft Grade – A
The Tigers had 5 picks in the first 63 selections and did quite well on all of them according to our ranking list. They were able to anchor their draft with one of the most pure goal scorers in the entire draft with Yale’s Josh Williams. Williams led the toughest league (CSSHL) in scoring this past season. In the 2nd round, they added AMBHL North defenceman of the year in 6’2 Daniel Baker and BWC F – Henry Rybinski, also in round 2. A pair of Manitoba top defenceman came just after with Ryden Fedyck in the 3rd round and Matthew Boonstra in the 4th sandwiched in the middle by talented BC forward Jalen Price. Big goaltender Kaleb McEachern from Kelowna was taken in the 5th round. Great draft by the Tigers in all areas and covered everything at all positions.
Favorite Pick: Josh Williams – Could turn out to be the top sniper and pure goal scorer from this draft class.
Darkhorse Pick: Matt Boonstra – Talented power-play type defenceman who should fit in to the Medicine Hat system very well. 72nd overall is great value.

Wondering when the team is going to announce that Jared Sauer won't be returning next season. From what I here another casualty of the Clouston era.

That's to bad re:Sauer. Should be Clouston packing his bags. Don't know if I can stand another year with Clouston behind the bench.

Also heard that Clouston has resigned for another two years. Masers continue to ignore the issues.

Tigers have selected John Dahlstrom, 6'1 187lb forward from Sweden with their second pick in the Import Draft.
Dahlstrom is a 2015 7th Round pick of the Hawks and recorded 38 points in 35 games with Frölunda U-20 team.
