Their is a defenceman by the name of Garrett Harr who was drafted in the 7th round, 207th overall from the 2013 NHL Draft by the Washington Capitals. Last season he played for Western Michigan University but this year was deemed academically ineligible to play for the fall semester. Guess who holds his rights?
The Medicine Hat Tigers
Garret Harr would be a 20 year old overager next season. He is listed as 6'1 198 lbs. The Scouting report on Garrett says he is a good all-around defenceman. Smart in the D zone, has a good first pass, and can contribute on the rush. Garret was injured for much of last season.
Next years Overage Group consists of: Boston Leier, Curtis Valk, Jacob Doty, Dylan Bredo, Zach Hodder.

Garret Tweeted this on Friday: Have decided to leave Western Michigan and go play in the WHL. Medicine Hat tigers seems to be my destination but still not sure.
Interesting to see what comes of this!

Wow, things just got interesting. I thought it was a lock with Valk and Bredo with Leier and Doty fighting it out, but I wonder if this will change things? Guess we can always acquire someone by trade for him.
I wouldnt be surprised if Doty plays ECHL he needs to be challenged and no one in this league will fight him
This is great!
