I hope Lanigan is ok! That is crazy that there is no call. In addition, I hope there is a change on the WHL score sheet and it is not recorded that Langhammer replaced Lanigan. So that last goal should not count against Lanigan!
Hope he is ok! Otherwise we have to put swiss cheese into the net..... might as well give away the 2 points to MJ.

Stanton has played so good in the back and with the rise of Becker id trade bus and make the lines
Lewington Ryckman
Jensen Becker
Stanton Staples
and call up Hunker, build that dman squad for the future because they have the potential to be elite, both Staples and Stanton have out played Bus this year

Wondering about Lanigan, hope he is ok! He has showed that he is a big reason why we win. He allows the tigers to play how they need to play to win. Langhammer just puts us in the hole in the first 5 min!

Inside Scoop: let's hope Lanigan is okay. Nobody wants to see these kids hurt.

I understand that Langhammer played the whole third. Is this true? I guess no on recognized him as I see he is wearing different pads that are mostly white which makes him less identifiable. And will they change the score sheet? That means Lanigan should have two goals less against him! The goal sheets have been wrong for 2 nights in a row now.

Makes no sense anon 10:47pm.

Re: Lanigan...should be ok, team said it was precautionary and he hoped after the game to play tomorrow in MJ

As of Sunday morning the league still hasn't shown that Langhamer replaced Lanigan for the third. Usually they have fixed their mistakes by the morning after the game. Hmm.

Oh and Hunter has 9 points in his last two games and 10 pts this week so far.... if he can get another point or two against MJ Sunday he will almost be guaranteed player-of-the-week again. But only if he shows up again against the Warriors.

If people are going to slam guys when the team loses they should also be willing to praise when they play well. I have bee one that has critizized Busenius at times but the last two games he has played very well, +5 with a goal and a couple of assists and doing a good job quarter backing the pp. He's 5th in dman scoring in the league, second overall in assists, and although he sometimes struggles with his decision making he brings something to the table that none of the other dmen on the team does and thats offence from the back end. He reminds me a bit of Mark Isherwoood who also had some defensive deficiencies but brought offence to the table.

Nice to see Businius have a good game before he gets traded!

Its a different game when the Tigers play TEAM defense and never give up on the puck. The result leads to a scoring chance for Tigers or at least a turnover. Its also amazing how a selfish penalty or giving up on a play ends up in our net.

Instincts tell me that Langhammer will be between the pipes for game in MJ. Word out of Tabbies dressing room will be that Lanigan could play but there no need to take any chances on anything being a long term injury. The word precaution will be used.

The problem as I see with Langhammer is that he plays too deep in his net and as a result he needs to make to many reflex saves as opposed to the puck just hitting him because he is in a good goaltending position. He is fighting the puck due to being nervous and the pressure of being a NHL drafted goalie. He has good skills, just needs the coaches to work through his adjustments to this league. It just makes sense for Lanigan to get a game off and for Langhammer to play on the road away from the cynical home town fans.

So who gets the over age short straw??

I was glad to see that Hunter has proved in the last two games that he can play with or without Etem. 9 points in 2 games. I knew it would just take him a while to adjust. Glad to see him back to his dangerous goal scoring self!

Seems strange you would pull a goalie unless he was hurt or concussed after the hit. We will see who plays today.

It is going to be tough decision for the coaches on Lanigan. A win tonight would make us a .500 team. Also, a win tonight would put us in the top 8 right now. I know it is not close to playoffs but I am guessing the coaching staff and management want to get into the playoff positions and stay there. MJ is just ahead of us in points and is a team we need to beat in order to stay in that top 8. WIth Lanigan we have that chance. With Langhammer it will be a tough game to win. And MJ knows that too.

derek ryckman has a new twitter

Stan it does make total sense, I didnt do that for line matching just who you bring to the table and who's up there, Stanton is looking fantastic so far and Staples is a quickly progressing rookie, Lewington and Jensen are solid each game and Ryckman is a mean rock that stands up for his team mates (very rare to have on this team over the years) and with Beckers rise this year Bus is expendable not to mention he cant cover a man infront of the net to save his life, the fact that he keeps getting points (usually on the pp) is just a bonus for us moves up trade bait we could get for him, this team is not built for a run against teams like Saskatoon and Edmonton in the playoffs, as the tigers found out last year playoffs are a lot different then regular season and our top squad is going to get matched with top D men like Griffin who are far far superior than Hunter, build your team for runs not for a chance to just get in the playoffs, our problem in the future will be a goalie without a doubt unless Langhammer improves significantly.

Sorry Anon, still doesn't make sense to do it, but unless you're familiar with junior hockey it won't make sense to you.

Stan thats a pretty easy logic, trade the guy who can cost us defensively bring up a guy that should be on the roster and develop Staples and Stanton with rotating them in with Hunker........not hard to follow at all

Anonymous said...

If we would call Hunker up, Then we should go with Mortlock. Mortlock is 16 and makes Hunker look good and Hunker is 17!

Anon 10:47- You are nuts. Staples has out played Bus. What are you watching! Staples is lost out there.

Stan said...

Sorry Anon 11:39, as I mentioned it wouldn't make sense to you.

Anon 11:42 is right, Mortlock is closer to making this roster than Hunker.

Likely the only way Hunker makes the Tigers roster in the future is as a forward.

Mortlock was horrible when he played here and Hunker was much more responsible defensively plus he is the type of Dman we have always needed (until we got Ryckman)
